1. Zero Tracking & Personal Data

OtakuEvents does not require account registration, and does not collect, store, sell, or process personally identifiable information (PII).

2. No Tracking Cookies or Advertising Pixels

We do not use tracking cookies, cross-site trackers, advertising pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Ads), or third-party behavioral tracking scripts.

3. Client-Side Search, Filtering & Interface Preferences

All search queries, keyword filters, and state selections execute entirely within your browser memory (client-side). Non-personal interface preferences (such as your choice to filter search results as the map moves) may be saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) so your preference is preserved across visits. This data remains strictly on your device and is never transmitted to any remote server or third party.

4. Calendar Export & Map Tiles

Downloading .ics calendar files creates the event file locally on your device without server transmission. Clicking 'Add to Google Calendar' opens Google's calendar creation service in a new tab with event details passed via standard URL parameters. The interactive Map view loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap/OpenStreetMap tile endpoints.

5. Hosting, CDN & Security Infrastructure

Our website is statically hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered via Cloudflare's global content delivery network. Cloudflare provides edge caching, automated bot mitigation, and privacy-respecting web analytics / Real User Measurements (RUM) that assess aggregate page traffic and technical performance (such as Core Web Vitals and load times) without using tracking cookies, fingerprinting devices, or profiling individual visitors.

6. External Third-Party Links

OtakuEvents links directly to external event websites, convention ticketing portals, and archived snapshots. OtakuEvents has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, security, or privacy practices of any third-party websites you visit.

7. Children's Privacy

OtakuEvents is a general-audience directory and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.

8. Policy Updates

If our data practices or features ever change in the future, this policy will be updated on this page prior to any changes taking effect.
